Miguel and José Pedraza opened the restaurant on 14 February 1976, turning a Mudejar-style building on the edge of Granada into one of the province's longest-running fine-dining addresses. José has run the kitchen and Miguel the dining room since the start, and the family still owns it fifty years on. The rooms carry their own names, among them the Salón del Emperador and the Salón Veleta, each opening off the main hall. The kitchen grows some of its own vegetables and draws on produce from across Granada province, working Mediterranean fish and tropical coastal fruit into a seasonal, contemporary Andalusian menu.

Lunch runs 1pm to 4pm and dinner 8pm to 11:30pm, but the kitchen is closed Sunday evenings.
