Checked

Western Leone preserves the film set built for Sergio Leone's 1968 Once Upon a Time in the West, including the story's red farmhouse and ranch buildings. The same desert backdrop appears in For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Patton and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The park now recreates the saloon, bank, sheriff's office and telegraph office from the westerns filmed here.

Western Leone is the smallest and least visited of the desert's three film-set parks, with quieter streets than its neighbours Mini Hollywood and Texas Hollywood. Beyond Sergio Leone's own film, the set has hosted dozens of Spaghetti Westerns over the decades, including the Bud Spencer comedy Buddy Goes West and A Reason to Live, a Reason to Die with James Coburn and Telly Savalas. Since the 1960s it has also hosted television series, adverts and music videos shot against the same desert backdrop. The park now runs a horse-riding route through the surrounding scrub, a saloon restaurant and a period photo studio where visitors can dress as characters from the films it recreates.
