Torre de Éboli

Checked
This medieval tower in Pinto, built in the mid-14th century, gets its name from the Princess of Éboli, Ana de Mendoza y de la Cerda, who was imprisoned here for six months in 1579. Philip II's secretary Antonio Pérez was later held in the same tower, and Manuel Godoy briefly in 1808. Twenty-five metres tall with rounded corners, it survives in good condition and can be visited.
