Sint Olofskapel dates from 1440-1450 and is the second-oldest church building in Amsterdam, built for Norwegian sailors and named after King Olav. It briefly served as the city's first merchant trade hall before becoming a Protestant chapel in 1645. Religious use ended in 1917; today the building is a conference and events venue linked to the Barbizon Palace Hotel next door.
