Cycling stops in Bogotá
2 places · Colombia
Bogotá starts at 2,600 metres, so every climb out of the city is a climb stacked on altitude. The eastern hills go up immediately: Alto de Patios and the road to La Calera are the standard morning test, ridden before work by half the city's cyclists. On Sundays the Ciclovía closes more than a hundred kilometres of street to cars and hands it to bikes.
The cafés here belong to the riders themselves. Go Rigo Go is Rigoberto Urán's, and 9.30 Café is Nairo Quintana's.
