Riders pass right by its striking Baroque façade on Husovo náměstí, fronted by a 9-metre sandstone Marian column from 1734 ringed with statues of four saints, worth slowing down for. The current building dates from that same rebuilding campaign (1734–1736), when Grand Duchess Anna Maria Franziska of Tuscany had the estate's earlier, smaller castle (1689–1697) rebuilt to designs by architect Václav Špaček. Inside, the main hall carries frescoes by painter Karel Josef Moravini depicting the Battle of White Mountain. Nationalized after 1918 and later run by a collective farm that turned its chapel into a coal store and laundry room, the castle fell into disrepair before a 1977–1983 restoration brought it back, it has served as Hostivice's town hall ever since.
