Photos now download while you are on WiFi, so they are on the device before you ride. Previously most places showed a category tile for the whole ride: photos were only fetched when you opened a card, and out on the road — where the Karoo reaches Waybook through your phone but cannot reach anywhere else — they could never arrive at all. That also fixes a background retry loop that kept trying once a minute for the entire ride. Also: a fix for duplicated diagnostics lines, and each device now gets its own daily build allowance instead of sharing one.

Getting started: add the Waybook field to a ride page (Profiles → edit a page → add field), then load a route and tap Build in the app. No route loaded? Nearby finds cafés, food and sights around you as you ride. Waybook is completely free while in beta. If something looks wrong or a place is a dud, the thumbs on any place and Settings → Report a problem both come straight to me.

First beta build. Setup: add the Waybook field to a ride page, load a route, tap Build. What is new: · The place screen is easier to read. Photos lead the Google card, the rating and the opening hours no longer clip each other, and the buttons fit on one line. · The place photo is shorter, so the name and the story start on the first screen. · "Was this a good pick?" has six clearer answers. Free while in beta. Anything odd, tap Report a problem in Settings.
