Terms of Use

Effective 27 August 2026.

1. Operator. The Service is operated by Jakub Foglar, Czech Republic (“Waybook”). Contact: jakub@jakubfoglar.com.

2. Scope. These terms govern the website waybook.cc, user accounts, and the Waybook extension for Karoo (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you accept these terms.

3. Beta; availability. The Service is provided free of charge and as a beta. Features may be changed or withdrawn, and the Service may be suspended or discontinued, at any time. No level of availability is guaranteed.

4. Karoo extension. The extension is independent third-party software that you install yourself. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Hammerhead or SRAM, and may cease to function after device software updates. It is licensed under the licence distributed with it, for personal, non-commercial use. It is not a navigation or safety device and must not be operated while riding.

5. Accounts. One account per person. You must be at least 15 years old, or have a parent’s consent. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts may be suspended or terminated for breach of these terms. You may delete your account at any time; deletion removes the account and its content.

6. User content. You retain all rights in routes and other content you create. You grant Waybook a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process and display that content to the extent necessary to provide the Service, including publicly where you enable sharing. The licence ends when the content or the account is deleted. You warrant that you hold the rights needed to add the content.

7. Intellectual property. Waybook’s editorial content, its selection and ranking of places, guides, cartographic design, software, name and mark are the property of the operator and protected by copyright and database rights. Except as expressly permitted by law, you may not copy, scrape, extract in bulk, republish, resell, or use such content to build datasets or train machine-learning models. Automated access is permitted only through what Waybook publishes for that purpose. Third-party material remains subject to its own licences: the place directory derived from OpenStreetMap is published under the Open Database License at waybook.cc/data; text adapted from Wikipedia is licensed CC BY-SA as marked; photographs carry their own credits. Nothing in these terms restricts rights granted by those licences.

8. No advice. Route, place, surface, water and opening-hours information is derived from open data and automated processing and may be inaccurate, out of date or unsafe. You ride at your own risk and remain responsible for compliance with local law.

9. Liability. The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data or lost time arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service. Liability for harm caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and your mandatory rights as a consumer, are not limited.

10. Prohibited use. Unlawful content; spam; impersonation, including through a handle; circumventing limits; interfering with or attacking the Service; automated access other than as published.

11. Changes. These terms may be amended. Material changes are announced on the site. Continued use after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance; if you do not accept, delete your account.

12. Law and disputes. Czech law applies and Czech courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence. Consumers in the Czech Republic may seek out-of-court resolution through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, coi.cz). If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stands. The English text governs.
