La Maglia Coffee & Co is a specialty coffee shop in Platja d'Aro built around cycling. Its own roastery supplies the espresso bar, and the kitchen turns out healthy brunch plates, toasts, poke bowls and açai bowls, served inside or on the terrace. Professional teams and weekend riders alike treat it as a clubhouse. It offers monitored bike parking and sits on the routes linking Girona to the coast, a natural stop before heading back inland.
La Maglia takes its name from the maglia rosa, the pink jersey the Giro d'Italia awards its overall leader, chosen by owner Marc Guinó, who rides himself. Guinó grew up in a family of restaurateurs in Maçanet de la Selva, around the sound of coffee machines in the family business. He opened La Maglia as a small café for cyclists in Platja d'Aro during the pandemic, and by 2023 had grown it into the first specialty coffee roastery on the Girona coast. The beans are 100% arabica, scored no lower than 85 points by the Specialty Coffee Association, and roasted on site. The pastries come from two established local suppliers, La Puntual bakery and Can Pericus delicatessen in Banyoles.
