Rustik Empordà

Rustik Empordà is a bakery and café in Bellcaire d'Empordà, running since 2018 on a breakfast-and-brunch concept that mixes tradition with a house "Rustik Lab" trying out new dishes. It is known for its croissants, filled toasts and fruit bowls alongside good coffee, and the space carries cycling-themed decor. Kitchen runs from 8:30 to noon, closed Wednesdays, an early-morning stop for riders passing through the inland village.

Rustik has built a following among road and gravel riders passing through Girona: komoot reviewers rate it 4.5 out of 5 across dozens of write-ups, and Girona-based cycling outfits, including Equipe Girona Guesthouse and The Cycling Culture, list it as a regular stop. The café runs its own rides out of Bellcaire, including a gravel series called the Rustik Sessions. It carries the Bikefriendly certification, the Spanish network's mark for stops genuinely set up for cyclists, with room to park bikes and dogs welcome too. The kitchen also takes requests beyond the printed menu for regulars who want something different.
