Brandon Hill is Bristol's oldest public park, granted to the city in 1174 and opened to the public in 1625. The steep hilltop carries Cabot Tower, built in 1897-98 to mark John Cabot's 1497 voyage to North America, and gives wide views over the harbourside below.
