Checked
A cycling café, bike shop and training centre a few hundred metres from the Muur van Geraardsbergen, opened in 2024 by four cycling enthusiasts. Coffee, fresh pasta and Belgian beers on a terrace with a big screen for live racing, plus bike fitting and performance testing upstairs.
On race day the courtyard terrace fills with riders and fans watching the action on a big screen, coffee and fresh pasta arriving between attacks. Four cycling enthusiasts, Jonas Vangindertael, Tim Gremmelprez, Nicolas Everaert and Arthur Agneessens, opened the doors on the last weekend of September 2024. Vangindertael, a former racer, set the concept; Gremmelprez runs the kitchen, plating cheese and meat boards, seasonal pancakes and a rotating cast of pastas alongside the coffee. Upstairs, kinesitherapists Everaert and Agneessens run bike fittings, strength work and coaching, so the same address doubles as a training base and a place to watch a race. During the Tour de France the Hub runs its own programme of open-air film nights, group rides and wine-and-cheese evenings for the crowd that gathers to watch.
What you see
A round medieval stone tower, the last of Geraardsbergen's town-wall defenses, rises right beside the terrace, with the cobbled approach to the Muur running past just below.
Practical
Coffee costs just 1 euro for anyone who arrives by bike, and there is a bike wash zone, shower rooms and free parking for riders.
