Coffeehood is a specialty coffee roastery and coffee bar housed in the historic Księży Młyn district of Łódź, inside the former Scheibler mill complex. It's known for single-origin specialty arabica roasted on-site in small batches, plus pastries from a partner bakery and French bakes from a local micro-bakery on weekends. For riders it opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm, closed Mondays.
Coffeehood roasts everything it pours on a Polish-built Coffed drum roaster, cupping each new batch before settling on a profile, and sources single-origin arabica through importers reaching Brazil, Colombia, Peru, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Indonesia. Only beans scoring above 80 points on the SCA scale make the list, with espresso blends targeted above 82 and filter coffees above 84. Michał, roasting since 2016, runs the place with Asia inside Księży Młyn, the self-contained workers' settlement Karol Scheibler built around his mill, complete with its own hospital, fire station, gasworks and power plant. The café has become one of the strongest names on that district's coffee map, drawing both a quick-espresso crowd and people settling in for a slower cup.
What you see
The café occupies a red-brick former factory building, one of the raw-brick industrial blocks that make Księży Młyn one of Europe's best-preserved 19th-century industrial complexes.
