Hot Air Cafe is an independent specialty coffee shop on Piotrkowska in Łódź, run by a barista with medals from Polish Barista and Latte Art championships. It's known for coffee brewed several ways, V60, Chemex, AeroPress alongside espresso, sourced from roasters across Europe, plus pastries and a hot-air-balloon mural inside. For riders passing through the city centre it opens daily from 9am, Monday to Saturday until 8pm and Sunday until 7pm.
The barista behind the counter, Łukasz Kaczmarek, has moved from competing in the Polish Barista and Latte Art Championships to judging them, now an SCA-accredited judge for both the Polish and World Barista Championships. He runs Hot Air Cafe on Piotrkowska himself, and the counter doubles as a teaching space for the city's coffee scene. Free public cuppings run three times a day, each about an hour, open to complete newcomers and working professionals alike.
