The Brick Coffee Factory

Checked
The Brick Coffee Factory is a specialty coffee café on Piotrkowska Street, one of two locations in Łódź, serving exclusively specialty coffee since 2016. Baristas prepare single-origin beans through aeropress, syphon, drip, and chemex alongside croissants, sandwiches, brownies, and fruitcakes, making it a regular stop for breakfast or brunch. The café keeps a terrace with outdoor seating and opens daily from 8:00, early enough to fit before the rest of a ride.
The café opened at Piotrkowska 136 on 2 November 2016. It was originally going to be called Cegielnia, the Polish word for a brickyard, before the name settled into English while keeping the same nod to the city's industrial brick. About fifty specialty coffees from Polish roasters rotate through the shop, none held on the shelf more than forty days, with roughly eight brewing on any given day. A side room was set aside for running coffee training as the business grew.

A mural inside pairs a coffee cup with the smoking chimneys of the city's old mill skyline, painted above a wall of hand-formed brick.
