Owoce i Warzywa on Traugutta in central Łódź is Łódź's first klubokawiarnia, a café-bar, running continuously since 2010. It's known for specialty coffee brewed by drip and AeroPress alongside strong cappuccino and espresso, and was among the first in Poland to serve nitro cold brew, set inside a retro interior of 1960s-70s furniture and street art. The kitchen turns out ciabatta sandwiches and salads, giving cyclists passing through the centre a proper sit-down lunch alongside the coffee.
In Your Pocket has called it the coolest café in the country, and it has been written up by the New York Times too. It carries a yellow Gault & Millau hat every year and has twice been named Łódź's café of the year by Jemy w Łodzi. By day it runs as a coffee bar; by night it turns into a proper bar serving beer, wine and vodka, and the room doubles as a venue for concerts, film screenings and talks. A small shop inside sells art and design books. It is the original of what are now two Owoce i Warzywa locations in the city, the newer one on Piotrkowska 217 set inside a former factory building with bare brick and big windows.
