Checked

Schloss Seefeld began as a medieval fortress guarding the route between the Ammersee and the Starnberger See, first recorded as Veste Seefeld in 1302. The Counts of Toerring-Jettenbach acquired it in the mid-15th century and, in the 18th century, reworked it from a defensive castle into a Baroque residence. It remains in Toerring-Jettenbach hands and now houses a museum.
