Checked
Col Rodella rises above Passo Sella on the southeastern edge of the Sassolungo group, reached by cable car from Campitello di Fassa or by chairlift from the pass. Hikers can reach the top without technical climbing. The Rifugio Des Alpes sits just below the summit, its terrace looking out over the Sella Towers, Sassolungo, Sass Pordoi and the Marmolada.
The summit stands a full kilometre above Campitello di Fassa, the valley town connected to it by the cable car of the same name. The top can also be reached on foot from Campitello or from the village of Canazei, or via an easier unpaved path up from Passo Sella, for those who skip the lift. From the upper cable car station, the flanks of Sassolungo and Plattkofel are only a short walk away. Reaching the Sella group from here takes several hours over Passo Sella, and the Rosengarten group is approached through the Val Duron valley.
