Kraví hora

Peak · 304 m · Czechia

Checked

Kraví hora (305 m) sits a kilometre northwest of Špilberk in the Veveří district, with an urban park, planetarium, and observatory at its summit. Connected to nearby Žlutý kopec by a shallow saddle where Míru square stands.

Locals speaking Brno's hantec dialect call the hill Monte Bú, and know it colloquially as Kravák. Older maps recorded it under its German names, Kuhberg or Urnberg. A shallow saddle connects it to the neighboring Žlutý kopec, with Brno's Náměstí Míru square sitting in that dip between the two hills. The hill belongs to the Bobravská vrchovina upland range, on the edge of Brno's central basin.
