Monogram Espresso Bar
Café · Czechia
Checked
Monogram Espresso Bar is a small specialty coffee bar in a historic building on Kapucínské náměstí in central Brno, near the train station. It's known for coffee from Czech and international roasters, homemade cakes and snacks, and a bright, welcoming space run by a Czech Barista of the Year winner, with both indoor and outdoor seating. For cyclists, it's a convenient central stop with a small terrace, open weekday mornings from 8am (Saturday from 10am, closed Sunday).
Owner Adam Neubauer left his hometown of Nové Město na Moravě for London straight out of secondary school, and the café he worked in there, one that put quality over quantity, shaped the rest of his career. He brought that grounding back to Brno and opened Monogram in 2017, inside a heritage-protected building on Kapucínské náměstí. Czech and international food critics and writers, voting in the city's annual Gourmet Brno awards, later named it café of the year.
What you see
Inside, the small room splits into two materials: timber panelling behind the seating, screed plaster around a free-standing bar worked from either side, with a shared communal table and a web of ceiling cables carrying the espresso bar's custom lighting.
