Mladějovská horka

Peak · 363 m · Czechia

Checked

Riders passing Mladějov will spot this cone-shaped hill rising just southwest of the village, its summit scarred by old stone quarries that carved ravines across the top. Mladějovská horka (363 m) is a basanite (basalt) volcanic intrusion that pushed up through Upper Cretaceous mudstone, marl and siltstone, part of a volcanic ridge that continues east across the Žehrovka valley through Hrádek (314 m) to Velká hůra (458 m). Deciduous forest covers its upper slopes and west side, while farmland surrounds the rest of the hill. A red-marked hiking trail runs through Mladějov itself, and a field road heads south toward Hubojedy with a branch climbing the hill's southern flank.
